Returned to Work
« on: January 30, 2007, 09:18:51 PM »
I had a proximal realignment 6 weeks ago.  I just returned to work part time today and worked 4 1/2 hours.  I am a school based speech therapist and do a lot of walking.  I did wear a knee brace.  I am tired, but feel suprisingly good.  It felt good to be back at work.  A few of my students were so happy to see me again that they hugged me.  I am going to work 15 hours this week, 17 next week and then see if I am ready to do full time or keep increasing my time over a few weeks.  I can get partial disability.
6/2004 partial lateral meniscus removal and microfracture left knee
7/13/05  open lateral release, medial plication, spur removal right knee
12/06  re do proximal realignment right knee (scar tissue formed ) 5 days post op - fell and fractured elbow
08/2009 - feeling good so far work 50 hrs a week
