Hey! You guys forgot A.S!
« on: January 23, 2007, 09:24:09 AM »
Hi There!

I'm new, but I had to say something about the fact that ankylosing spondylitis isn't mentioned in here! That is the disease I have that has presented itself in my peripherals along with the hips, spine, ribs and neck.

I just had my right patella pop out of the track to the right side and have been stuck dealing with this all over again. I had this same experience in 98 and ended up having a lateral release.

I just thought I'd pop in and mention A.S. since it's so similar to R.A that they even share the same medicines such as enbrel.

Take care!

Great forum

Hi there,

I'm the other ASer on this site.

Cindy and I hold the even rarer distinction of having both AS and AF (arthrofibrosis). How did we get so lucky?

Jaci

Arthrofibrosis ROM 38-68
3/04- 4/08 Multiple scar tissue procedures:

3 insufflations, many injections
Chronic AF, patella infera, IPCS

Hey there Jaci,
Good to see you still around.  It's lonely out here only the 2 of us.  I'm hoping Tela will have a better preview on knees and AS.  I do think that Arthrofibrosis is definately a huge problem with knee surgeries in patients with AS and I want all AS'ers to know it and be prepared before heading into any knee surgery.  I didn't have a clue when I ventured into all these surgeries 2 years ago and my hope is to help educate anyone with AS who has knee problems.

new to this website. i too have a.s. diagnosed 6 years ago. main problem areas are hips, neck, shoulder and eyes. i fell 11/03/09 and fractured my patella so now i am dealing with that too. almost 90 days since the break and it still has not healed and now my os thinks arthritis may be setting in. not a fun scenario......

Wow, totally shocked to see this here. I am in the process of hunting down a diagnosis, but it's looking like AS.  Auto immune runs in my family and the Bonescan I had in the fall suggests that AS is a very likely diagnosis. Waiting to see a Rheumy, as my Ortho was done when the Bonescan suggested enthesopathy (possibly AS).

I have Back pain, hip pain, knee pain, rib pain, neck pain and shoulder pain.

2009/2010- Possibly Ankylosing Spondylitis?

Hi! I'm new here and possibly have AS! I have been 'officially' diagnosed with Inflammatory Spondyloarthritis, but my Rheumy doesn't want to narrow it down until I am older, my symptoms run more like AS than anything else (Iritis, stiffness mostly occuring in the spine etc.) I'm 19, was 18 when I was diagnosed.
