Ashley,

My bosses wife has had a torn ACL for four years.  She told me that due to her age and activity level she has opted not to have it repaired.  She walks around just fine and said that her knee never really bothers her...even though her ACL is totally gone.

When I was in high school a friend of mine went an entire year on a torn ACL so that he didn't have to give up his senior year of soccer.

Yes, it's normal. I had mine completely removed, then tore my meniscus and walked around like that for 17 years.

Yep, normal ... I had a physical therapist once who tore his and opted not to get it fixed b/c it wasn't causing him any problems.

Hey welcome to the group.  Since you have an ACL injury you should come over to our section of the Kneegeeks forum under the Specialist Office under Cruciate Ligaments.  Good luck!
