My husband served in the central highlands of Vietnam in 67-68 with the first Cav... he was in Hue during the Tet offensive and spent time on LRRPs - He has 125+ air assaults and a bunch of decorations. If you ask him what he did in Vietnam he will tell you he went on helicoptor rides, walks in the bush and picnics...
I am so proud of him I almost burst... He and the other veterans are the finest men and women in the world.. God bless you, thank you for serving us and welcome home.

Your husband has my respect, thank him for me! I too am infantry and air assault, I understood all the acronyms, LRRP - Long Range Reconassaince Patrols, usually affilliated with the Air Borne Rangers or Green Berets! That is awesome! I served in both Gulf Wars, I will assure you Iraq is the forgotten kitty litter bowl that Ali forgot to clean!

Another one here.
I enlisted as a 13B in the NH National Guard in (I was a jr. in high school). I was commissioned as a 2LT in 1993 and I remained an artilleryman.
I am currently stationed at Fort Drum. Been around the world a couple of times. Most recent deployment was to OEF. Next deployment is OIF.
Take care and thanks to you all for your service.

10 year Navy veteran, and married to a retired sailor.
I think one of the greatest ironies is that when I was AD, I got almost every Veteran's day off and haven't had one since I got out 16 years ago.......
