Post ACL Reconstrution (patella tendon graft)

Just got back fom hospital today very tired from drugs. Got massive gash in front of my leg. Anybody who has been in this situation please give advice as in a lot of pain.
expected returm to football- 9 months. (ACL reconstruction with use of the middle third of my patella tendon)  They left the rips in my menisci, said they where only small. :o

10/10/05 Left Knee complete ACL rupture (5-A-side)
10/10/05- 15/11/05- Incorrect diagnosis by 3 GPs and 1 Hospital.
21/12/05- Saw good doctor and got MRI scan.
02/02/06- Got the bad news
05/06/06- Paid to see consultant
14/09/06- Had op used graft from patella tendon to replace ACL

My best advice is to ice & elevate and be sure to take your pain medication BEFORE the pain gets intollerable.
