Fractured patella
« on: September 09, 2006, 04:30:13 AM »
My son fractured his left patella mountain biking.  Surgery to put it back together with screws is scheduled for next Thursday.
The surgery is to be outpatient.  How much pain should he expect and when will he be able to do any weight bearing?
What sort of general timelline for healing are we looking at?  (He's very active, and already going out of his mind)

Hello, MarcsMom,

Sorry to hear about your son's injury.

There's an area further down on the board called 'bone breaks around the knee' it's in the 'specialists office' section. You may want to take a look and post down on that board. There are quite a few people who have a similar injury.

Best wishes to your son for a smooth recovery.

Jaci
