Hi...I am new to the site and would very much like to post some questions, etc but don't see exactly where to click to post something. I went to the Help section and it says that to start a new thread to go the Board Index page...which page is this? Sorry, I'm sure this is probably quite easy and I am missing something right under my nose, but can someone help me? I had surgery 2 weeks ago and am dying to talk about some of what I am experiencing now! Thanks!
Denise

Hello Desertgirl,

I just looked around for the 'don't know' button and couldn't find it. The board format changed a while back, and it looks like that feature does not exist. I'll try to give you some instructions, hopefully they'll be clear enough for you to be able to post your message.

Note: you may want to print out this message or open up kneegeeks again, so you can read on one and go through the steps to write on the other. You can be logged into the board in two separate windows, maybe even more, I've just never tried that.

First go back to the homepage for kneegeeks and look through all the boards to see which category fits best for your problem. For instance, for an ACL problem use the 'cruciate ligment' board under the "Specialist Office" heading. For a knee replacement concern, scroll down until you find the "Arthritis Department' heading you'll see a list of knee arthritis related boards below, go down until you find 'Knee arthritis-- total knee replacement.' If you are uncertain where to post-- look under the "Waiting Room' heading for 'General knee questions and comments' and post your message there.

Once you've found the board you want to post on, click on the title to expand it-- it will then show you all the different threads (topics)that are posted there. To start your own thread, look for the buttons on the right-hand side just above the list of topics. You'll see four buttons "Mark as read", "notify", "new topic", and "new poll." Click on "new topic" to open a window that you can type your message in. When you finish your message, you may want to preveiw it so you can do any editing. Then click post when you're finished. You'll end up back at the bulletin board and you'll see you message at the top of the list. I always re-read it at that point just in case. If you find any errors look for the ''modify" button, it will re-open your message and let you change stuff-- then click 'save' to post the edited message.

I always copy and paste my message into a Word document before I click the 'post' button, that way I don't run the risk of losing a message that I just wrote.

I hope all that makes sense so you can get your message up on the board. I've been participating here for awhile. I'd never postsed on this kind of bulletin board, so it seemed a little confusing at first. I got the hang of it though, and have found a lot of information and support here.

Welcome to the board!

Jaci

Go to the board that you want to post on. Click on the title of that board to expand it.

You'll see the listing of all the topics posted under that title. On the right-hand just above the list, you'll see four buttons-- click on 'new topic' and a window will open fo r you to post your message.

Hopefully, that will help you figure it out.

quixote,

One other thing:

If you click on the 'home' button, it will take you to the home page for the board. (or click your browsers back arrow twice) From there look for the board you want to post on then do the steps mentioned above.

The 'home' button is in a row with others just below the 'user info' box at the top of the page.

I hope you get it figure out. You'll find that people on the board are very supportive and helpful.

Take care,

Jaci

Hey quixote,

Just wondering if you got the board figured out. I sent a private message to you. Hopefully, you set up your profile to get email notices.

To open the message, look up in the user info box at the left-hand top of this page. And, click where it says you have X messages.

When I first started posting on the board, it was the first time I had ever used an internet bulletin board. It was confusing at first, but I finally figured it out. Let me know if need further instruction on using the board.

best wishes,

Jaci

Quixote,

One question: What kind of issue or injury are you dealing with so I can direct you to the right board?
