I'm having a bi-lateral anthroscopy, and possibly some of the ligaments cut in my right knee (depends what they find when they get in there!), anytime from September.

I started skiing last year, and have become hooked - can't wait to go again! We're planning to go in February next year, does anyone know if this will be possible? ???

Bi-lateral anthroscopy on 09.03.07 - severe damage to both knees.
Diagnosed with Osteo-arthritis in January '08 - advanced in right knee and beginning to spread to hip.

Me again!

Hopefully things will be ontrack by February for skiing, but other sports buffs out there - how long does it take to get back to swimming, tennis, and general gym work?

Frustrated at not being able to perfom at my best level now, terrified about what my limitations are going to be after surgery! :-\

Went training with my swimming squad last night, but had to get out of the pool early because of the pain and ended up having a good cry to myself in the shower! Through pain and frustration with myself!

There is no way to know what your recovery time might be without knowing what your OS does to your knees.  If it's just a scope without anyother work, you'll be ready before Feb.  If he does some of the more complicated things like micro fracture, it woould depend on the protocol of your OS and how you heal.

Sorry I can't be anymore help.

Thanks, that's ok.

I've asked the same question in some of my other posts, and it seems that the general impression is that everything should be ok for February. If it's just a scope I'll be bombing it down the pistes again, and hopefully even if I get the lateral release things can still go ahead - great! Just have to be careful not to fall on my new knees! I'll be treating them like gold!

I'm really hoping so, I can't let my knees stop me from doing anything else I enjoy!

Knees eh, who needs them! ;D
