Medial Ligament / Hamstring Tendon?
« on: August 03, 2006, 06:00:20 PM »
Hi All,

After injuring my knee playing football 13 months ago, I returned to the sports injury clinic again today. When the injury first occurred I was dignosed with a torn medial ligament, the MRI I had was 6 months after initial injury so the ligament would have healed itslef by then. The pain was stil there and I was then told I had then a medial ligament insertion tear, then subsequently a Pes anserinus tear. Today I have been told I have a hamstring insertion tear. I have been given a cortisone injection and told to go back if it is not better in 14 days. However, I am very sceptical as to how this injection can heel the tendon tear? I have instability in my knee which makes me think it is medial ligament related still. Does anyone know how such tears can be treated / repaired?

Many Thanks
