Scheduled for OATS with allograft Sept. 12
« on: July 22, 2006, 07:06:49 PM »
Hello Everyone!

I just wanted to touch base with anyone who possibly has had the above surgery.

I know my knee is bad - dr. says I'm 3-6 months of NO cartlidge there but I don't feel my knee is ALL that bad - perhaps I'm just used to the pain and not engaging in all of the activities I enjoy. (I did quit my second job - it required me to be on my feet on concrete for 4-8 hour shifts twice a week. I would come home and take Vicodin to sleep.)

Anyway - how bad is this surgery - pain wise. I'm planning on going back to a desk job 2-3 weeks in. I will be NWB for three weeks, and PWB for another three - with three months of PT. Dr. is best in area - I've heard nothing but wonderful things about him - but as with anything like this, I'm a bit nervous. Hole to fill is 15mm.

Thanks!

Donna
