Maybe someone can give me a little insight to what may be going on here. I had surgery ( lateral release)just a few months ago, well two months to the day if I think back. Everything has been doing great, minimal swelling, rarely any pain and just a little cramping... until... I was walking down some stairs at work yesterday and intense pain began shooting up my leg, all the way up my thigh and down into my ankles. It became immediately imbareable to walk on or move with so I sat down for a while. My entire body felt the sharp pain because I also began to feel nauseated and very dizzy. Just for comparison, I checked for swelling on the way to the emergency room and my left knee, operated on 4 months ago, was about the size of a softball but looked like a normal knee, however my right one, the one that hurt, looked more like a canteloupe, rounded out with pressure and swelling. At the ER I was given pain medicine and sent home after a few x rays and given no explanation as to what it may be. There is a lot of tenderness and swelling on the outer side of my knee, just under my kneecap and is extremely painful to lift my leg or straighten it. Has anyone else had this problem or know of anything I can do until I can reach my doctor... My appointment isn't until the end of August.
