Knee Osteophyte(bone spurs)
« on: July 02, 2006, 06:09:29 PM »
Hi,i had a lateral release in 2003 aged after many years of struggling with a patella tracking problem(chondromalacia),it was a disaster. In October 2005 i had another op by a different surgeon to remove an osteophyte and while he was there found a lsrge piece of bone from the first op.I then needed another op in May this year to remove another osteophyte from the same area.5 weeks on from the op I am starting to have exactly the same problems as before.Has anyone else had this complaint or could anyone tell me if i will just have to live with this.Is there anything more the surgeon might be able to do.I have never had an MRI or a CT scan on this.Only x rays. When i try to bend my leg there is a very sharp pain where the osteophyte is on the trochlear groove. When i put a little weight on my leg it is very sore across my the top of my kneecap
