Galeazzi Procedure
« on: June 30, 2006, 12:31:56 AM »
Hey,

Anyone else have this surgery? I had it done in January 2006 after 3 lots of surgery to correct a maltracking patella didn't work. I had a CT scan yesterday which showed more or less the same as my MRI scan - it still shows my kneecap sitting on the lateral side of my knee joint, about as far away from the trochlear groove as is possible without being fully dislocated.

My OS told me at the time that this was the last of the simple procedures and he'd considered PFJR if this didn't work. He'd be reluctant to do this on someone of my age but would do so if it was necessary. He said that for those OS's who carry out this surgery, the success rate is very good.

Looks like things have gone a littl epear shaped for me. Anyone else have similar experiences with this procedure?
