where is the meniscus exactly???
« on: June 02, 2006, 04:25:32 AM »
Ok, so kinda a dumb question, I know :-) I was really wondering, when feeling around the kneecap in what area is the lateral meniscus. I've been having a lot of grinding and popping on the right side of my kneecap and that area seems more hollow than the other knee, anybody have any ideas??

Hi there,

That's not a dumb question at all! Here's a link that will take you to another section of this website. There's lots of good info on meniscii, including where they are located. http://www.kneeguru.co.uk/html/steps/step_04_meniscus/anatomy.html

The popping and grinding could be meniscus related, but only a doctor is qualified to make an actual diagnosis.

Take care.
