Recurring Bone Bruising
« on: May 31, 2006, 07:36:16 AM »
Hi fellow kneesies

I had 2 medial menisectomies last year on my left knee.
Earlier this year I have reinjured myself and there is a 2mm articular ulcer on the tibial plateau.
I also had tibial plateau bone bruising that is either not healing or recurring.
It's been 3 months and I have been on Fosamax for a month to help the healing but the sharp burning pain on the tibial rim and just inside it doesn't seem to go away. Also there seems to be an ache from the tibia just below the joint line.
Most of the time the pain gets worse when walking.
My sports physician says its the bone bruising causing the pain as the articular cart damage is asymptomatic.

Would anyone know if articulat damage, no matter how minimal, causes this sort of bone bruising? Would anyone be able to tell me if there might be other causes of this bruising?

Really trying to avoid having to think about ACI or OATS to repair the cartilage.

Thanks for the help.
