2nd Hyalgan Injection Today
« on: May 24, 2006, 01:39:44 AM »
I went for my 2nd shot of Hyalgan today.  This shot hurt lots worse than the 1st one.  My OS had his physican assistant give it to me, and it hurt so much that my OS ended up having me squeeze his hand until it was over.  I'll bet HE gives me the 3rd shot next week.  I really didn't feel much, if any, relief from the 1st shot, but he says that hopefully I'll start feeling better this week.  Knee was kindof sore when I got home, so I've taken it easy today icing and elevating.

I also told my OS that I've been having lots of pain along the lateral side of my knee, hip, and back.  He said it's my IT band, and that I have to work hard on my exercises in order for it to improve.  We'll see.  I still think that my problems are being caused by malalignment and that the end result will be realignment surgery down the road, but I guess he has to follow a certain path to get there.

I'll let you know if by some miracle this shot does the trick and I'm suddenly cured.  Take care.
