ha ha.. Halifax Nova SCotia. ;D In Canada... I wish I lived in the England.. just cause it would be fun. ;D

yeah i'm taking care of myself best I can...I got to go to barn chores where my horse is tonight, and that was nice, I got to brush him and give him hugs and kisses. It's really the worst part of being injured.. is not being able to sook with my horse all day everyda.

hugs

Now I'm imagining our horses as part of a therapeutic riding program for us instead of for handicapped children.  We all have our special needs.  Glad you're doing better and you're out and about with your horse!

He's definately therapy for me... injured or not.  ::) but I like to think i'm therapy for him too!!!

I'm definately thinking i'd better get in to see my OS soon, I thought things were coming around, but now ... not so much. Yesterday morning, I had to dig through my medicine chest and found my last remaining T3 and was desperate for some relief from the gnawing pain in my kneecap. Then I was out with my husband just doing a little bit of weeding in the front garden, and I turned just a little to dump a bucket of weeds and almost fell to the ground with the pain. :(

My leg just feels strange, I want to say numb but it isn't numb it's just... fuzzy feeling or something and it's just so achey and wierd. It'll be two weeks on Monday since I fell.  I think it should be improving by now but it isn't.. not really.

:(

It's like sometimes it feels pretty okay but that's when i'm doing absolutely nothing and just walking around the house with level flat floors. :(

Anyway... that's the way it is at the moment.

:(

You'll be better off knowing what's really wrong with you, because then you can have choices for treatment.  I started with injections, and that did improve the pain.  Then for a couple of years I accepted the GP saying I had arthritis.  Then I decided that I knew I had a traumatic injury and my right knee hurt while my left knee didn't.  I'm glad that I got an MRI and new xrays.  What a pity that we have to push for complete medical care.  What a pity that you have to travel to get it.  Most medical conditions whether it be a sore throat, a wound, or a knee will resolve within 10 days if they will resolve without medical care.  After that it's time to see a doctor.  Your horse needs you, so you gotta get better!!!

Lucky you, because you'll get the most modern ideas shared in a teaching hospital.  We'll all hold you in our thoughts tomorrow, and we'll all look forward to reading your next post!  donna

Diagnosis, ACL tear, but not complete rupture (he doesn't think) Thank goodness.. however, my OS says such things take forever to heal and specially with my body. Anyway, ACL brace, fitted this afternoon or tommorow morning and then back to life... :P
Glad I bit the bullet and came and NO student Doctors, though my OS hurt me after promising he wouldn't.

Thanks for your support

Linds,

Sorry it's your ACL, that is a serious bummer. >:(  I hope the brace will help and that they can fit you with a brace that you can ride in.   Hope you can ride soon. 8)

Linds,

Guess you now know why your knee hurt so much.....   I'm surprised you won't need a reconstructive surgery with your active lifestyle with horses, but guess the doctor knows best.  Hopefully the ACL brace makes the difference.  Good luck with rehab.

Here is a good site about acl..... http://www.aclsolutions.com/treatmen.php

Thanks Ladies,
There is a BREG brace that is designed for riders, and other athletes that wear tall boots. The brace guy i'll be going to is a breg dealer so we'll see.
Umm... yeah my OS figures in about 6 months the thing should be well on it's way to being mended... Sigh.. i'm happy I don't need more surgery though...or atleast it doesn't appear that way.

Hope I can get riding again soon too, but he didn't look to optomistic when I asked him. :P Bumber

Take care

Please tell me more about the brace when you get fitted and/or when you get it.  When you were told that healing takes a while, did that imply that you won't be riding for a while or does it mean you're good to go with the brace?  Glad you got a definitive diagnosis.  Now you can move forward.  Best, donna
