I live in Yorktown, Virginia, basically our backyards are historic battlefields.  I've lived here all my life (well for the first 3 years of my life I was in Hampton, which is only about 10 min away).  I live at home while I go to school (Christopher Newport University) in Newport News VA, saves money but wow it gets annoying.

And...since I'm dying for a change of scenery...I am thinking I would like to move to Knoxville, Tennessee after I graduate, so I can go to UT for grad school.

Hiya my name is Julie and I am originally from England but I move around quite alot because of my husbands job.  I am currently living in Germany, I have also lived in Cyprus and a few other places.  Most of the people on the site seem to be from America, I have noticed a few from England, hello to everyone and I hope to talk to some of you in the future.

Hi all, I am new to posting here and maybe this thread is over but I thought I would post  :D.  I grew up on a ranch in Northern California on the border of Oregon and Nevada....very small town 800 pop.  Moved to Ridgecrest Cali, Middle of the desert between Mojave and Death Valley, for 4 1/2 years.  Last summer we moved to central Ca, near Modesto/Stocton area.  Glad to be out of the desert heat!!

Born in Boston, Massachsetts. Lived in Brookline, JFK's birthplace until the end of 3rd grade, when my family moved to NYC (Manhattan) with a weekend house in CT. Went to Wisconsin to go to college and then back to CT where I've lived ever since, in several towns: RIdgefield, Southbury, Woodbury, and now Danbury, since 1982.

Hiya

I'm from Galashiels, in the Scottish Borders, which is just under 40 miles south of Edinburgh. It's a medium-sized town with not much going on - the only good thing about it, as they say, is the road leading out of it! The people are unfriendly and you can't get a decent restaurant or clothing store unless you go up to Edinburgh or all the way down to Carlisle. Hence why most of my shopping is done on the Internet! We're so small we only got Broadband this year...and most of the surrounding towns don't even have it yet!

Err...remind me why I still live here?

Hi, everyone  :)

I'm originally from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, in NE England; moved to Solihull, near Birmingham, Central England, at 3 and have been here for the past sixteen years.  I'm starting my BA at the University of Cardiff in Wales in September this year.

Re. the Michigan links... I have a few friends at Umich over there and worked there on a theatre project for a couple of weeks when I was 17.  Had the time of my life  :)
