Pain to the touch

Monday evening i noticed my left leg was hurting in front like i had "shin splints" or something. When I woke yesterday the pain was more at the top of the shin and really started to hurt to the touch not so much inside. Now today, I cant even touch it without crying. The pain is below the knee cap and I CAN'T bend it at all, but I can stand on it with all my weight. Do you have any suggestions as to what it might be??... thanks, Derek.

Spinaldamage wheeler 100%.
Right knee damaged aug-06, use brace surgery 4/9-07.LCL tear.

Hey!
 I wonder if it is warm to the touch as if so have you ever had problems with blood clots? My girlfriend hard a simular thing happen to her. Just an Idea.

Motorcycle accident(open patella shattered)
8-05 reconstruction surgery wires pins, crown and figure eight , FEb 06, had bad fall and damaged knee and hardware. May 5 06 op to remove hardware and repair tissue, quad and nerve damage. Recovering!!
