Just woke up to find that the world has gone all white again and will continue to say that way for a while.
The first flowers had just pushed through, crocuses, snowdrops and other primula types. So winter is not letting go just yet. Just as well as I am going skiing for the next 10 days or so
Today is officially the start of Spring, meteorologically speaking as it is the Spring Equinox - so at the Poles they will have exactly 12 hours of day and 12 hours of night. According to our news programme it nearly always snows on this day around here

Still snowing fit to bust here! The early bulbs are trying hard to survive though.
Off skiing again on Saturday!

Its been a lot colder this week in the UK with a cold north wind and rain showers. I did see some lambs in the fields at the weekend and leaves are starting to bud on the trees.

As John has said the clocks go forward 1 hour tonight so lose a hours sleep but its on Sunday morning and can lie in for that extra hour. Be nice to have light nights during the next few months.
Winter not over yet a widespread frost tonight in the UK so dont plant out any seedlings just yet until we are safe from night frost. Its been chilly today with a cold wind feels like February and are back into single figures so not woked on my allotment today.

Saw a goose sitting on a nest being guarded by her mate (or is it the other way around?).
Attempted to cut some of the grass with a push mower, but it's still too wet after days of rain. 1 year post op and my knee definitely did not like mowing, I only got about 15 minutes worth in before having to quit.

Spring came and went on Saturday for us
Sunday was cold and wet with continuous snow/sleet.
Over night it dumped on us big time AGAIN! I knew it would but my landlady put the snow shovel away - guess who has to go out and clear her driveway yet again - no prizes just another shovel to help as it is wet and heavy Spring snow!
Forecast is threatening a return for Spring later this week, but probably that will turn out to be summer
As they say around here - Schau man mal!

We don't have snow, but that doesn't mean it won't happen eventually. This time of year is soooo unpredictable!
For the last 2 days we've had pelting icy rain and it's cold....I know we need the rain to clean everything out but it does nothing for my frame of mind.
Our long range forecast indicates more of the same.....drip, drip, drip!!
