Back to normal?
« on: March 12, 2006, 09:54:30 PM »
I have a high grade partial tear of the ACL and lateral meniscus tear.  How long will it take until I can function to normal, ie. able to bend and straighten my knee and walk normally?  When will I be able to do physical activities such as biking, running or swimming? It's been a week since I have the injury and I haven't been able to do these things.

Sorry you got injured.  It's hard to say how long it will take till you can do your normal activities, but a week is way to short a time to get back to normal.  Your injury is worse that a very bad sprain so it could take a couple of months or more to heal.  Scroll down and check out  The SPECIALIST'S OFFICE -  Cruciate ligaments.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.
