Questions to ask
« on: March 11, 2006, 10:08:57 AM »
Hi - Thought I'd ask the experts.

I've had my MRI scan and due to have the results and see the consultant on Tuesday 14 March. He believes that I have an ACL injury (and possible Meniscus damage).

This may be a silly question, but what are the sort of questions I should be asking - having looked through various web sites there seem to be pros and cons to hamstrings /  patella grafts, what rehab to do, etc, etc.

I'm finding it quite confusing!

For reference - I'm UK based.

Thanks

Here is a site that might answer some of your questions.  Make sure you check out the tabs at the top of the page.

Thanks for the advice.

I've had a look at the web site and found it informative.

I'm glad I found KneeGuru.co.uk as I start on this "journey". I can see it becoming a place of support and encouragement over the coming months,

Roll on Tuesday and finding out the results of the MRI scan......

Hi gav,

Just one piece of advice when talking to OS re type of aclr;  make sure the doc knows what activities/sport(s) you hope to return to.  This can be important in deciding what graft type to use for the reconstruction.

Best of wishes to you.
