reactive synovitis
« on: February 04, 2006, 06:33:58 AM »

I had my 19th surgery on my rt knee 10 Jan.  I got the surgery report to give my PT.  It states that I have/had reactive synovitis and that a synovectomy was done.  I am not sure what exactly this is.  I have tried searching the net and am still confused.  Any info would be greatly appreciated.
I should add that the surgery was to remove the replacement patella that was put in two years ago.  I did not have a patella for 17 or so years when he put this one in.

Could you tell me why your patella was removed in the first place, and what happened with the replacement one?
I had a patellectomy five years ago due to an accident and I found a Dr (in the USA) who has stated he can use an allograph replacement.
I'm just wondering about your experience.
