Technique to weaken the VMO ?!
« on: March 19, 2003, 12:31:29 PM »
Physio's technique to w!eaken the Vastus Medialis Obliquus (VMO)?

A friend had knee tracking problems which were resolved
instantly by a physio. Apparently like me his VMO muscle
was too strong (vs the Vastus Lateralis).

Apparently the physio simply dug her thumbs into
to VMO really hard for a minute or two.

Anyone know anything about this?
(I cant find anything in search engines on this...)

Hi Ship, You can't weaken the VMO by putting your thumbs into it, and don't even think of doing it to yourself. That is something done to break up scar tissue done by trained people. Go see a orthopedic Doctor to see about exercise for strengthening the lateral side if thats whats needed. Theresa
