Pain behind knee......Advice needed.......plz

I saw the OS and PT last thursday and they said everything is fine as the offices aren't open till after new yr, but I've go this horrible shooting pain down lateral side behind my knee. (The haematoma that is on the medial side). Any ideas that any one has about what the pain is?

Could it be nerves?
wife has similiar in stomach following surgery, the gynae said it was nerves healing.
should get a check up though, do you have an emergency doctors service within your gp?
