Who can do a MACI
« on: December 28, 2005, 10:21:21 AM »
Hi, I have recently been advised to have a MACI on my right knee. I live in China and the guy who wants to do it has very little experience. I can pretty much go anyway on the planet to have the operation (although the UK is probably best). Can anyone recommed a very experience surgeon ? Your help would be much appreciated. Neil

Germany seems to be the most advanced in ACI and it's next generation stuff.  They are already testing a 3rd generation procedure.  Don't bother coming to the US, as they haven't started clinical trials yet on MACI.  Orthosupersite.com has a bunch of articles about the newest techniques.  You can look at the authors to get some ideas.  Good luck!
ACI was supposed to be 2/21/06.  On 6/29/06 Insurance co said have another scope, and if it still looks good, they'll ok the ACI.
