I had ACL surgery and medial meniscus repair and my saphenous nerve was damaged in the process. Now, a large portion of my calve feels like it is burning but is numb at the same time.
First, I'm wondering if this is an area that a neurologist would deal in?
If so, is their any tests that they have which can locate the area where the nerve is damaged? My orthaeopaedic surgeon says it would be like trying to find a needle in a haystack if he went back in. So do neurologist have some kind of radioactive dye technique or something to identify the damaged area? Or am I better off going back to my orthopaedic surgeon?
