Will I get more flexion?
« on: November 09, 2005, 07:52:58 PM »
Hello all,
I got a total knee replacement done June, 2005. Due to a complication with the incision site, I was unable to aggressively work on range of motion post op until September. I understand that I might have missed a "window of opportunity" in those first few months. Since Sept. I have gained considerable strength, but I'm still between 90 and 100 degrees flexion, depending on the day. I've been using a device called the ERMI Knee/Ankle Flexionater for nearly 3 weeks now. If I'm making any progress at all, it seems to be little and slow. My question is this: If I keep working at it, will I get more range of motion? I'd like to get 120 degrees. Has anybody out there had a similar delay in therapy, but still regained adequate range of motion? The doctors I've spoken to are very non-committal and vague about this. What do ya'll know?
