2nd patellar tendon rupture following TKR
« on: November 03, 2005, 06:06:19 PM »
In Dec of 2004 I had a TKR which was sucessfull.  After 4 weeks I had 120 degrees of ROM.  Unfortunately I fainted and as a result ruptured my Patellar tendon in the same knee.  Had repair in January and followed up with PT.  After 3 months in a Locked down hinged brace, I was free and the summer started out fine.  In Mid July I stated feeling pain again and noticed it was more difficult to walk and move around.  End of Aug I saw my OS and learned that the repair had let go and Sept 2 I had my 2nd repair.  I stared PT only 10/31 (have been in an imobilisor since surgery)  I now have to rturn to the hinged brace and only unlocked to 10%.

Has anyone else been through this or a similar situation?  My OS tells me it is rare to have this occur and especially difficult following a TKR.
