long standing Anterior knee pain & skiing
« on: October 28, 2005, 09:55:45 PM »
hi, i was wondering if any1 has any advice. i am 18 & have suffered knee pain in both knees since i was 11. despite being told that it was caused by growing & would be gone by the time i was 16 by the gp, it has got worse. the pain is not the same intensity daily, but when it is at its worst, feels like someone has stuck a knife between my patella & the joint  :'( (sorry for graphic description). I have had numerous scans, & an arthroscopy on my left knee. it was concluded from these that i have to much movement in my joints, & when my knee is bent at 60 degree my knee caps are almost completely out of hte groove. also my VMO muscle is week, & intense physio fails to build it up. in december i am going skiing, but i do not know how my knees are going to stand it. does anyone have any suggestions of a good knee support, or alternative.
thanks
