TKR Recovery--4th year
« on: October 28, 2005, 09:41:45 PM »
Had a bilateral TKR (Total Knee Replacement) Oct 2001.  Was able to walk 1/2 mile without crutches 21 days later.  Took ONE YEAR before I could do a 140-degree squat, and even that is not a full squat.  By now the dead skin area above the knees has come fully back to life. Knees almost never cluck--but they always set off the airport metal detectors. Also, I'm no longer bowlegged! Read the full description of the operation and recovery at velocitypress.com. Click on "Knee Replacement surgery."
