You know you've been on crutches too long when....
« on: October 27, 2005, 02:00:06 AM »
  • You need crutches to walk in your DREAMS!
  • You can fix dinner/go to the bathroom/etc without consciously realizing you did all that with crutches
;D
Any more examples?

You have two sets - One for when you are wearing shoes, and another for when you're barefoot!

To long when you can carry a drink or bowl with out spilling any of it.
When you go potty at night and have no problems.
When you use them like chop sticks and don't have to bend down to pick something up.

oh this is great, I think I can relate to all of it!  Most surprising to me is on a day I can walk and people are surprised to see me without them.
I can do anything on crutches, cook dinner, serve the kids, go up stairs, I don't really even notice them anymore.  Yes, my are adjustable and the shoes i wear make a difference, I know by heart what setting for what shoes!!!

.... you seriously consider decorating them for special occasions!

(Like Halloween, Christmas etc)

Yes ... I am that sad! ::)

Have to say that I am very impressed with everyone's proficiency on their Crutches - I never learned how to Manage Stairs or function effectively on mine!

Mine were mostly used for picking things up, prodding the Kids and Dog, banging on the bedroom floor to indicate I wanted a cup of tea :P and occasionally Hitting people
(and there was that one memorable and very embarassing time when I had a really, really bad night and threw a major temper tantrum and beat the bedroom door into submission with them)

I'm hoping that I won't have to go back onto Crutches when I get my Operation done ....

No plans for the future! :-/
