Knee Brace
« on: October 23, 2005, 06:56:48 PM »
Hi, when i was about 14 years old, i went ice skating and fell on my knee really hard and couldnt walk for about a week or so, and have been having problems with my right knee ever since. I am now 19 and it is still causing me problems. I went to a physio and she said i have a floating patella, and gave me a series of exercises to do to strengthen the VMO, which i stuck to and did for ages, although this hasnt seemed to have any effect. Mountainbiking and snowboarding are my life, and the only thing that holds me back is my knee. I am looking for a brace that both supports my knee and provides adequate impact protection. I wear knee pads, but these dont provide any support. I have been looking at motocross knee braces such as the Asterisk cell knee brace, as these seem to provide the level of protection i am after. Am i looking at the right type of braces, and would you reccomend any perticular brace or other solutions to support and protect my knee!? Many Thanks.
