surgery next week
« on: October 24, 2005, 11:21:30 PM »
Help! I'm scared.
This is what their repairing...Completely torn ACL,PCL torn,Horizontal tears through both the anterior and posterior horns of the Lateral Meniscus.  All are going to be repaired at same time using grafts from me and donor.  They tell me surgery will be at least 5-6 hrs.
In one way I'm glad that they are doing it all at once but I'm really afraid of the pain.
I dislocated my knee in July.  Tearing up stuff and also breaking the fib. which has healed.
Has anyone been through anything like this?  I could use some encouragement.  Its been a rough road thus far.  I do expect my knee never to be the same.
Thanks,
Betsy

Hi there,
I had ACL recon, meniscus repaired and a partia PCL tear fixed in mid-sept. My surgery was about 4.5 hours, and the end result is worth the pain right, like being able to get back to the things you enjoy! Im sure youll do great, try to think positive!!
