Going for my third op in as many years
« on: September 30, 2005, 05:53:02 PM »
I just found out today that I have torn my left ACL, so my op will probably be next month.  I tore my right ACL in 2002 and came back playing soccer, after a long 10months rehab.  Also I partially tore my right ACL again in 2004 and I spent 3months out after keyhole surgery. I had no more problems until I got injured playing soccer two weeks ago again.

Obviously today is an extremely bad day for me.  I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this kind of bad luck and has anyone got any advice for me.  Thank you

I had an ACL roconstruction on my right in 99, and it ended up being non functional due to improper tunnel placement so I had to have a revision a year later. I also wnded up having multiple meniscus surgeries so I know the feeling. I think it is much worse when you know what you are going to have to do as far as surgery and rehab goes. I fell in January and streched my ACL again, I had a thermal shrinkage procedure that did not work, so I may be having a 3rd ACL done on my right knee I am not sure of that yet.
My OS told me that if it wasn't for bad luck I would have no luck at all.
Good luck to you and keep your chin up. It will get better!
