water on the knee

on sept. 2 i had my fifth knee surgery.  i had a lateral release done.  i went in friday to get my stitches removed and on og my insensen start to drain.  at first ti was blood then it turned to a clear liquid.  but my problem is i have a lump on the side of my knee that is filled with fluid and it is putting pressure on my knee.  i never had to use crutches with any of my knee surgerys so can some one help figure if it cause to worry with the fluid on my knee.

Have you tried to gently massage the lump ? Is it hard or soft ?
Have you asked your doc about it ? Did it appear after the drain ?

Surgery 6 times left knee torn meniscus, RSDS,chondromalacia, nervdamage cause constant nervpain,chronic inflamm.
Spinaldamage wheeler 100%.
Right knee damaged aug-06, use brace surgery 4/9-07.LCL tear.

the lump is soft to the touch but it puts pressure on my knee when i walk
