Knee giving way after acl reconstruction
« on: September 06, 2005, 11:29:10 AM »
Can anyone help?  I had an acl reconstruction op 15 months ago, seemed to go pretty well with the exception of occasional locking and a few niggles thus am on waiting list for MRI (possible cartilage).  However a few days ago my knee gave way on me again with excruciating pain and bringing back awful memories of when my knee used to frequently give way before the op.  So I went to see a doctor at A&E  and he said he didn't think the acl had gone again (but then they said that the 1st time and it had!!) and maybe it was a loose body or something and there isn't much I can do until i have the MRI.
Can anyone advise - I'm just hoping the doc is right and it isn't my acl. ???
