Cortisone is a steroid and acts as an anti inflammatory in the knee joint.  It will help to take down any inflammation that is present. The problems with Meniscus tears is that there is very little blood flow to the meniscus (cartilage) itself.  This means it is hard for the body to heal itself. I would think the surgeon would want to fix it now while it's just little.. rather than wait for it to get bigger. HOwever, it may be located in an area that does have higher blood flow.

Hope this helped and goodluck

he linds,
thanx for the info. i think im going to try it and im pretty sure that the tear is in an area with blood flow so that mayb why he hasnt decided to fix it now and is trying to let it heal on its own.
thanx again,
