Re-Torn ACL questions....
« on: August 04, 2005, 10:13:43 PM »
Hello all.
Got bad news today.  Back in April of '04 I had reconstructive surgery on my ACL, Posterior Lateral Corner, and Meniscus.  Today I had another MRI, and it looks like I have torn my ACL graft.  In '04 I had cadaver ligament.  This go 'round I am being seen by a sports medicine specialist because of my activity level.  He wants to most likely use my hamstring.  What are the pro's and con's of the use of the hamstring?  Will it make for a more stable ACL?  It didn't seem like my ACL was ever that stable with the cadaver ligament in place.  I'm really frustrated.  Any answers to my questions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I had a cadaver graft and is very stable.  So maybe your OS didn't do such a great placement job.

Go down to ACL section on this website and you will find tons on info on patellar tendon vs. hamstring graft.
