UK PCL, meniscus tear
« on: July 12, 2005, 04:30:06 PM »
I hyper extended my knee from a landing at gymnastics and it's taking so long to get a real diagnosis.  When I initially went to hospital they tried to make me walk on it but I insisted on having crutches.  I went to see my physio who said she thought I had torn my PCL and wrote me a letter to take to the hospital.

I had another check at hospital and then went to clinic where they said I had prob torn the PCL, medial meniscus, damaged my medial ligament and ACL.

They've booked me in for an MRI scan but it's taking so long.  I'm really worried cause I'm a gymnast and also a PE teacher.

Any advice people?

Sorry you're so frustrated with the delays, but unfortunately problems with knees often take forever to get treated.  Are you doing any physio?  With injuries like you describe a good physio can help you get your ROM back and be able to walk better.

Good lick with the MRI and I hope it doesn't show that you have damaged so many things in your knee.
