High Tibial Osteotomy Not healing
« on: July 07, 2005, 01:54:45 AM »
Hello All

I am 4 months out of an Opening wedge high tibial osteotomy.  It appears that it is not healing and not growing new bone.  I am wearing a bone growth stim about 9 hours a day.  My x rays show that their is still a clear fracture and the Ct scan that I had yesterday said just about the same thing.  Back to the OS in the AM------Any ideas as to what might be going on????

WOW and I thought that I was the only one.  I should have known better.

Thanks a million.  I am going to print these off and go over them with OS in the AM.

Sssummar,

That sounds really positive!  When I was using the stimulator, once we say bone forming things got better a little faster, but it took a total of 9 months before OS said it was healed.  See him next week to see how well the bone has remodeled itself.

Hang in there, it will eventually heal.
