« on: July 03, 2005, 09:51:00 PM »
I have recently been told that i need to see an orthapeadic surgean beacuse i have torn my ACL, Dr Andrew Williams was recommended. i was just hoping that someone could give me some information on him. I not sure where he works or so dont have any connact detai, so they would be a great help.

I play rugby so i was wondering what people think would be a better graft, a hamstring or patella?

thanks vey much

Sorry but haven't heard of him - I lwork in the City of London.  Mr Dominic Spicer at London Bridge Hospital (private) and St Mary's Hospital (NHS) reconstructed my ACL on 20 January 2005 using a hamstring autograft - I would recommend him and I found that the hamstring autograft has worked very well so far.

You won't get a better knee ligament surgeon. He works from the Chelsea and Westminster (NHS) and the Wellington Knee Clinic privately.
He has completely salvaged my knee after ACL and PCL reconstruction failures (and I have seen a number of surgeons and so have quite a lot to compare him with)
He has done many premiership rugby players (including Lawrence Dallaglio and Dan Luger's ACLs so you would be in good company)
If you want any info message me
