chondrosis vs chondromalacia
« on: July 09, 2005, 02:12:33 AM »
Hi again,

What is the difference between chondrosis and chondromalacia?

My surgical report post-op diagnoses include grade IV chondrosis - lateral facet of patella and grade III, early grade IV chondrosis - medial femoral condoyle.

One site said chondrosis is formation of new cartilage, but that didn't seem right since the above locations were locations of chondromalacia (according to the MRI last Sept.).

Thanks!

Flipflop,

They're the two names for the same thing. Try Googling chondrosis.
