Painful knee and leg
« on: June 25, 2005, 10:53:49 PM »
A mystery what happened while sitting down. I stretched out my leg and felt a crick in the back
of my knee.  Stretched again and I didn't hear a pop but felt a pop.  Had severe pain in the back of my knee and in the calf muscle.  Almost unable to walk.  Rested my knee and leg for a day and
it got better but this is day four and I still feel pain when I walk or go from a sitting to standing
position. Could I have injured a muscle or ligament just by stretching in a sitting position?  A
real mystery.
Thanks for any input you might have.

Hi, sorry that you are having knee problems.  You can injure knees in weird ways.....One thing you might do to settle down that knee is to elevate & ice & take Nsaid's like Motrin etc.....

Do this for a couple of days and then if it is still hurting - you should make an appointment to get your GP to check it out.  If necessary they'll refer you to an Orthopedic Surgeon to be assessed.

Good luck,
