What i've learned are benefits to knee problems..

YOu get alot tougher, it takes a whole lot more pain to make you cry!
You learn to appreciate the days your knees aren't SO bad...
You learn to be much more self aware of your body.. which is definately a good thing
You take up new hobbies to pass time
You learn that ice and cold are your friends, as long as they are on packs on your legs, not on sidewalks and stairwells
You learn that PJ pants and sweats are comfy...
you learn to appreciate comfort, nice socks, comfy shoes more easily at an early age.

Here's my top ten list for the benefits of knee problems:   

10. My heart has been softened for people with disabilities.
9.  I've heard from people I haven't heard from in years - and I've had time to contact friends/family I hadn't been able to connect with in a very long time.
8.  My husband realizes how much work it takes to work full time, take care of a four year old, do the laundry, grocery shop and keep up with the house in general...and take care of the dog!
7.  I've met some of the nicest people b/c of my accident...people I would've never met.
6.  With all this time on my hands, I've been able to reevaluate my purpose and refocus my ideas on my career.
5.  Great parking spots!
4.  I'm much tougher than I thought.
3.  I lost 20 pounds in the first month after the accident!
2.  I haven't had to dress in heals, hoisery, and a dress in this 115 degree heat - as I can't go back to work yet!
1.  Getting to spend time with my parents who moved here (to retire) three days before the accident.

Some benefits!  Good parking spots.  Sympathy from total strangers.  I also have found that my kids appreciate what they can do a whole lot more.  They are also wonderful about helping me out.  Also a good excuse for not getting laundry done (our machines are in the basement.)

I totally agree here, our laundry is in the basement to, so the men folk have been fetching, carrying and working the machine for me, a real benefit.

The one I'm not sure about, as I've been struggling around trying to do as much as possible, my husband said to me "You are just like your mother" now as I've been complaining for years about her struggling to do things, and rushimg round after people, maybe a benefit will be that I'll let the boys do more............................................but I'm still working on that one.

One benefit of bad knees:
well having to go to regular physio means, that a task that I sometimes can't be bothered with in the winter, and get to busy to do in the summer, is now completed reguarly

my top 3 benefits of a bad knee:
1. never being in a rush
2. not having to clean the oven
3. ive developed an artistic interest in anatomy as a result of all my hospital/physio visits and i now have a full set of body joint models in my bathroom

well... being in the military i get time off from work and still get paid!..always nice.. i actually get to rest and try to relax instead of worrying about the yard getting cut and errands ran... and i get to spend some good ole quality time with my wife and step-daughter!

When the injections are wearing off after a dental extraction, you probably have a better selection of painkillers than the average household.

the scars make lovely conversation openers.    the braces prevent you from disappearing into the crowd.  it really teaches you how tough you are.  you learn not to let little things like an irritating little cold slow you down. sorry but bad cold bronchitis and the likes will still knock you on your butt.

OOOOh and if you are lucky you can catch thrush.  just ask Donna,  LOL  JK JK JK
