Knee Pain
« on: June 02, 2005, 12:42:46 PM »
Hello all!

Just wondering if anyone can help if my dodgy knee problem? Basically, I suffer from a sharp pain in the middle of my right knee cap after playing 8 a- side football, although I suffer no pain while playing. The pain mainly starts when I walk up stairs and I can feel a kind of ridge passing over my knee when the pain is worse. At the moment this is a minor hinderence but as I also enjoy hill walking I do not want a long term problem to develop.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
Neil

England.

One possibility is a plica. Look that up under the search engine and see if the symptoms match your own pain.
good luck

It does sound like Plica. I shall see what the doctor says.

Thanks Missy.

Well the doctor says that I have a inflamed cartilage, so I am now on anti - Inflam pills. Hopefully that will sort it.
