A Kneegeek Journal ......
« on: May 29, 2005, 11:26:45 AM »
Hi,  ;D

Many people keep diaries or journals today & write down things that touch them personally.  I like finding quotes that say what I am feeling - other's like drawing - we are all different - that is what makes life so interesting, as we all have such diverse views.

Here is one quote that I really like....

As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.
--John Fitzgerald Kennedy

So true, but if we do not speak to others they might not understand what our intentions are.....  :-*

Has anyone any good quotes or feelings that you would like to share with the rest of us??  Some day we might be feeling down and need to come back here for words of inspiration or encouragement to help us get through a rough spot.......

Hugs,

Shade

The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.
--Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

"Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it.  Boldness has genius, power and magic in it."  Goethe

To see a world in a grain of sand
And a heaven in a wildflower
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand
And eternity in an hour.  Wm. Blake

"Suffering was the only thing made me feel I was alive.  Thought that's just how much it cost to survive in this world.  Til you showed me how, how to fill my heart with love, how to open up and drink in all that white light pouring down from the heavens...haven't got time for the pain..."  [don't know lyricist, but song recorded by Carly Simon]

When you lie in bed in your own personal dark night of the soul, tears of sadness and of rage for all you believe you have lost blocking your way to the oblivion of sleep, raise your leg and with your foot write your name in the dark void and believe that within You you possess the power and the courage to recover all you believe you have lost.  some anonymous kneegeek

Hi,

You can't change the past, but you can ruin the present by worrying over the future.

Kinda reminds me of kneegeeks:

I've learned the great value of the three F's:
forgive, forget and forge ahead.

One that could be matched to recovering :-

Happiness is like a scooter, once you're up and running, you can just scoot along.  It's getting up and running in the first place that's the tricky bit!

"Health is not valued till sickness comes."
Dr. Thomas Fuller (1654 - 1734),

i think that this quote is sad, but true. It is for me anyway. I used to take playing sport and even walking up stairs (!) for granted.
Since my knee problems started i no longer take it for granted. I've realised that even though i can't play any sport, and i struggle walking up stairs, there are ALWAYS people worse off than me.
At least i CAN still walk, and i have a family who love me, and a nice home. :)

"A wise man should consider that health is the greatest of human blessings, and learn how by his own thought to derive benefit from his illnesses."
Hippocrates (460 BC - 377 BC),
