Tight retinaculum
« on: May 20, 2005, 10:43:16 PM »
Can anyone tell me if a tight retinaculum will loosen-up with physio??
My so called 'Good' knee has been troublesome for a few years but over the last few months it has become far worse.  I saw my OS earlier this week and he said I have a tight retinaculum but didnt want to operate, which I am pleased about.  The thing Im worried about is, how long does it take to correct with physio alone??
Taping is a huge help, painwise, but is only a temporary measure.
It was difficult enough managing with 1 bad knee but to have another join it is no fun at all!!

Thanks for your help,

In my, admittedly limited, experience massage can do a lot.  They need to work on your hip and lower back too though and you need to look closely at your gait.
