bone on bone
« on: May 20, 2005, 06:36:26 PM »
hello all,
i have been having problems with my knee since boxing day.
i had a mri scan but nothing showed up, i was fed up of not knowing what was wrong. my gp has put me down to see a speicalist.today i went to phyisio for the first time, the physio said that my fat pad had worn away and i am walking on bone on bone, i go back next week to try to strenthen my muscles in my leg as they are very weak. do you think i will need a op or will the phycio help to stop my bones from rubbing together , any info will help please.

I have no idea which would work.  How exactly did you do it, i mean running or what?  that is what my school trainer said might be wrong with me and so someone who has that problem might be able to tell me more about it. Thanks

Jamie

thanks for the reply jamie, i think my problem is through overuse i am a support worker for people with speical needs so i do alot of moving and handling, i am only 4 11 and i have been moving people over 14 stone. i did courses on moving and handling but they teach you how to protect your back and to use your knees when moving people. have you been to the doctors or a specalist if not i would suggest to make an appointment to get it checked out

Hi there , i read your information, and, i have been walking bone on bone for a lot of years, and found that haveing a clean out of the knee did help but this year in April i had to have a complete total knee replacement and although i am still in Rehab 3 times a week i feel the pain is so differant.

I had an accident in 73, in England on the job, when i broke the patella, and then it just got worse from there, you however sound like its a form of arthritis and that can be helped but the scoping out of the knee and bone and taking away the arthritis it last a couple of years, it may help
