patella tendon rupture & rupture of the quadracep
« on: May 20, 2005, 02:51:12 PM »
I had an electric shock from a  drill that caused a patella tendon rupture & rupture of the quadracep. This happened on 9-1 05  they operated on my knee and put it in aplaster for six weeks. I have been having physio since 15-3 05 and i have managed to get 100 degree's movement back but i am still finding it hard to do a lot of things like walking up stairs and walking any distance without the aid of elbow crutches. I am still having to take pain killers and ibuprofen regulary for the pain and still have some sleepless nights with the pain when i have tried excercising it.has anyone out there had anything similar and got any advise for me has to what to expect for the future.  Kev.

Hi,

Welcome to the board.  There is a section called 'Specialist Office' and you'll see 'Patello-Femoral Joint'.  Look for the post Ruptured Patellar Tendon Surgery - you should be able to talk to some people there about your situation.

Good luck to you.
